Pierre Bouchard was already enjoying a comfortable stack – 2nd in chips at the last break – and got into a battle with Stephan Langevin, who had about 40K to his name. The preflop bets eventually got the shortest player fully invested, and the cards were revealed:

Bouchard: Ace of Diamonds Jack of Diamonds
Langevin: King of Clubs King of Hearts

Board: 5 of Diamonds Ace of Clubs Jack of Hearts Queen of Hearts 2 of Clubs

The ace fell on the flop like a ton of bricks, leaving Langevin with only 2 outs to survive, but none showed up.

A huge pot was played on table 30. Steve Daunais, after Gilles Nolet raised to 6.7K and was called by Junior Roberts, went all-in for about 20K. His bet was called by both players involved. When the flop appeared, Nolet went all-in himself. Roberts asked for a count. The dealer announced a 29K bet, and Roberts, looking at the size of the pot, made the call with 2 over cards, hoping to hit.

Daunais: Ace of Spades 8 of Spades
Nolet: 10 of Diamonds 10 of Spades
Roberts: Queen of Clubs Jack of Hearts

Board: 4 of Diamonds 3 of Clubs 6 of Hearts King of Diamonds 10 of Hearts

The king on the turn was only high card that couldn’t hurt Nolet. He dodged his opponents’ outs and raked a 6-figure pot. While Daunais was eliminated on that hand, Roberts still had chips, but he was seen leaving the premises as these lines were being written.

The monster field in Event 6 has been halved in just 8 levels. While Stephen Caplan and Junior Roberts have kept climbing – although Roberts reportedly went down to just 10K before springing back up! – it is Gaétan “Iloveyou” Perreault who had the most impressive stint. From under the radar, he climbed to a whopping 144K in just 4 levels!

The $80 Freeze is swelling at a mind-blowing pace. Only 2 levels have passed, and almost 200 players have joined the field! The prize pool has double the guarantee in a single level, and we are well on our way for a $15K pot.

Players have about 50 minutes before registration closes, at which point we will be able to publish the payouts.
