When you’re in the small blind with a decent ace and playing against a big blind with a stack on the short side and likely to take risks, you’re pretty confident to have the best hand. But sometimes, as Shawn Konig found out the hard way, you’re way behind. Denis Ouellette had a serious pocket pair and only needed to fade an ace on the run out.

Konig: Ace of Diamonds 9 of Clubs
Ouellette: King of Hearts King of Diamonds

Board: 2 of Hearts 8 of Spades 5 of Hearts 10 of Diamonds Jack of Clubs

Ouellette picks up the 75K pot.

There were four players on the turn when Razvan Vintiloiu bet 16K. Two players folded, and the second the action came to Aaron Czaja, he threw in a bounty chip, which means an all-in bet. Razvan called instantly with a set of 3s, but found that his opponent was not as far behind as he would have hoped:

Razvan: 3 of Spades 3 of Clubs
Aaron: Ace of Diamonds 5 of Diamonds

Board: 4 of Spades 6 of Clubs 3 of Diamonds 9 of Diamonds 8 of Clubs

The clean river allowed Razvan to stay in and with a healthy stack of 100K or so.

Daniel Guindon was all-in for a small amount, while Pierre-Luc Siméon and Marc Coallier were fighting for a side pot. The fight was short lived, as both players got it in on the flop for about 25K.

    Guindon: :1 10 of Clubs
Siméon: Queen of Clubs Jack of Hearts
Coallier: Ace of Clubs King of Clubs

Board: 3 of Clubs Jack of Clubs 3 of Spades 7 of Spades 2 of Diamonds

Coallier had a load of outs, but Siméon dodged all of them to pick up Guindon’s bounty and move up the board.

    A colossal upset

    • Level: 6
    • Small Blind: 300
    • Big Blind: 600

We came across a hand that had 3 players all-in pre-flop and 2 of them severely dominated.

Mario Massie: King of Hearts King of Spades
Alex Plourde: Ace of Spades Ace of Clubs
Chris Arvanitis: Ace of Diamonds King of Clubs

Board: Jack of Diamonds 2 of Hearts 10 of Clubs 5 of Hearts Queen of Clubs

Arvanitis had about 11K before the hand but that was enough to pick up Massie’s bounty chip. Alex Plourde had his aces cracked, but he is still on top of the leaderboard.
