Tonight, we conclude the Playground 200

    2018/05/21 - 19:00 by Jôle Simard

The May Power Weekend is coming to an end. Tonight, the last Event, a 6-Max 50/50 Bounty, will unfold on the left side of the tournament hall while Day 3 of the Playground 200 will play down to a winner on the right side.

Twenty players are rounding the last 3 tables of with François Dugas in the lead. With three 5-figure amounts up for grans and 23K reserved for the winner, this final day promises to be a great feat.

Playground 200 Day 3 seating draw (with counts)

    2018/05/20 - 23:00 by

Day 3 in the May Power Weekend edition of the Playground 200 begins at 7:00pm on Monday evening, and when play resumes, there will be 20 players at 3 tables. Every single one of those players is vying for the top prize of over $23K – but there’s a long payout ladder to climb before they reach that point, starting with the 20th place prize of $1,040.

There has been a full redraw to start Day 3 and there will be another redraw when 10 players reach the final table. Play will resume in level 25 with blinds at 15,000/30,000 and a button ante of 30,000.

Good luck to everyone still in the event!

Day 2 is in the record books

    2018/05/20 - 19:45 by

Day 2 is now complete, and after 24 total levels played in the Playground 200, there are just 20 players remaining in the tournament. In the last level today there was a bit of a shakeup in the standings, and although Makan Salimi had been leading for several levels, Francois Dugas bagged as chip leader at the end of the day. Another slightly surprising result is that although he started the day second in chips, Mathieu Boucher spent much of the day back in the pack – only to emerge with a huge stack at the end of Day 2 that will again see him start a new tournament day in 2nd place.

Here are full final counts for Day 2, and we’ll publish the Day 3 seating draw a little later this evening.

The clock in level 24 of the Playground 200 is about half-way through it’s 40 minutes and very soon, the TD will be calling for dealers to complete a set number of hands per table and the day will conclude. There are still 3 tables in the action but just 21 players remain at the tables – and if there are 3 more eliminations, Day 3 will start with 2 full tables.

All of that will be known shortly after the end of the action tonight. As soon as it’s available we’ll add the final Day 2 results and then shortly after that we’ll publish the Day 3 seating draw.

The Playground 200 is down to the final four tables, with only 33 players remaining. The blinds are up to nearly a starting stack, and everyone remaining is guaranteed a decent return on their buy-in, but their sights are set on the $23,036 first-place prize.

The Playground 200 has its first player to cross the million-chip threshold – François Dugas. Behind him is his table-mate to the right, and then the stack sizes go down quickly from there. With just 39 pleyers remaining but several short stacks still in play, we’re due to see some big swings yet today.
