Players in the Playground 200 are half-way through their day in terms of the number of levels to be played today, and the tournament keeps moving quickly as there are just 50 players left in the action.

Here’s a roundup of some recent photos in the tournament.

Soucy out on the bubble, 80 players itm

Ghislain Soucy, an experienced tournament player from the area who has been nurturing a small stack all day has been eliminated on the bubble in the Playground 200 on Table 68.

Christian Larocque opened the action with a limp from utg, which was followed by a raise to 26K from Jason Conforti. Ghislain, directly to Jason’t right, shoved for about 100K and action folded back to Christian, who made the call. Jason folded.

Once it was determined that this was the only hand with a called all-in, the cards were revealed.

Ghislain: 8 of Clubs 8 of Diamonds
Christian: Ace of Diamonds Ace of Clubs

Ghislain would need help to move forward. The flop: 2 of Spades 5 of Diamonds 3 of Diamonds – there was more help for the Aces than Ghislain’s Eights on that flop. The turn and river Jack of Clubs Jack of Hearts were pretty, but total blanks for Ghislain and he was sent to the rail just one place out of the money.

    On the bubble…

The players in the Playground 200 have just returned from their first break of the afternoon. This event has just reached the money bubble so hand-for-hand play is now underway. With 81 players left in the field, everyone is eyeing the $23,036 first-place prize.

The Playground 200 is now down to 81 players and 80 will get paid – it’s the bubble! A couple of things are happening at the same time. First, the clock has been paused for hand-for-hand play. Second, being down to 81 players, a table is being broken and all of those players will be at their new tables before the first hand is dealt. Next – during hand-for-hand play the clock is counted down by 2 minutes per hand – which means that exactly one hand will be dealt and then players will be on break.

    Conforti takes over

    • Level: 17
    • Small Blind: 2.5K
    • Big Blind: 5K
    • Button Ante: 5K
    • Chip Average: 189K
    • Remaining: 84
    • Entries: 635

In Jason Conforti’s own words, “I’m just playing the rush!” And some kind of rush it is, because in very short order, Jason has has been able to take over the chip lead in the tournament – he’s up to well over 700K at the moment.

    Jason Conforti

Here are a few other photos of the players before their first break of the day. The bubble is approaching quickly – there are just 84 players remaining.
