The second of four Online Day 1s in the Colossus was played last night on partypoker, and from 93 entries, 8 players have secured a spot in Day 2.
Ryan Boudreau was the player with the big stack when the 14 levels were complete, and he will have 393,500 chips to take to Day 2 – a great stack, though still short of the high water mark of 436,500 set by Jean-Philippe Beaulieu in Online Day 1A. Among the qualifiers is local player Dave Jeanneau-Cyr, who has 16 recorded cashes in major events here.
There’s another notable player on the list, Thomas “Sandy” Taylor, a Canadian player with a wealth of experience – he has 123 recorded tournament results in Hendon Mob – and could pass an important poker milestone in the event. He currently has $994,537 in recorded Live tournament winnings – a good result in the Colossus will see him pass the $1M mark in lifetime earnings!
There were some great players that fell short in Online Day 1B as well, including Mike Leah, Marc-André Ladouceur, Chanracy Khun, and Jimmy Setna, among others. These are huge names we’re certain to see again in this event. Online Day 1C is on tonight at 9:00pm, to be followed by Online Day 1D on Wednesday – and then the first of 9 Live Day 1s gets underway at 12:00pm on Thursday August 23rd.
