Sunday night was the official online debut of the 2018 WSOP-C Playground with the beginning of the Online Day 1s in the Colossus, exclusively being held on partypoker. The first Online Day 1 saw 101 entries hit the virtual felts – a solid start to the tournament with a $1 Million guarantee. At the end of the scheduled 14 levels of play, just 9 players remained and Jean-Philippe Beaulieu was in the lead with an impressive 436,500 chip stack.
Second in chips is a regular Big Event player here at Playground Poker Club, Edward Hislop, from the Ottawa area. Trailing the field was Carter Swidler – but he also happens to be one of the most experienced players likely to join the tournament, so we’ll be watching to see if he plays additional Day 1s to build a better Day 2 stack, or relies on his massive experience to make due with just under 50K.
See all of the Day 1 results on the official Colossus – Combined Day 1 Results page.
Online Day 1B is scheduled to start at 9:00pm tonight, with Online Day 1C and Online Day 1D to follow at the same time on Tuesday and Wednesday evening. Live action gets going with the first of 9 Live Day 1s set to begin at 12:00pm on Thursday, August 23rd.
Good luck to everyone who plays in the event!
