    Event #3 Champion: Jimmy Lehouiller

    2018/06/28 - 2:49 by Shawn McCrory

Event #3 of the June Power Weekend, the $200 + $30 + $100 PL Omaha Bounty Re-entry, drew a total of 40 entries, generating a prize pool well beyond the $10,000 guarantee.

The action was fast paced during the first few levels of play, leading seven players to fire a second bullet at this event. The word “pot” was heard early and often, and multi-way all-ins were a regular occurrence. Once the re-entry period finished and prize money appeared on the horizon, the players tightened up, favouring pot control over bounty hunting.

Jean-Francois Daunais led the way for most of the evening before running out of steam once he reached the final table and busted in seventh place. From there, Stacy Levac took over the chip lead, but he was unable to run away things. The final four players-Stacy Levac, Jean-Serge Baril, Huy Monorith and Jimmy Lehouiller-were locked in a see-saw battle where the chip lead changed hands several times and the short stacks kept coming back from the brink of elimination. Following Baril’s elimination in fourth place, the three remaining players quickly agreed to an even chop of the remaining prize pool.

Monorith, Baril and Lehouiller each received $1,940 for the chop, leaving $240 for the winner. The winner was quickly determined when the three players were all-in before the flop on the next hand, and Lehouiller, who had a slight chip lead over his opponents, took it down to claim victory. Congratulations!

Event #3 Champion: Jimmy Lehouiller, $2,180

    Baril out in fourth

    2018/06/28 - 2:37 by Shawn McCrory

Jimmy Lehouiller has just eliminated Jean-Serge Baril in fourth place. Baril had been on a roller coaster at the final table; he ran up the chip lead at one point and came back from the brink of elimination on several others. But his run was ended by Lehouiller when the two got their stacks in before the flop.

Lehouiller: Ace of Spades Ace of Diamonds 10 of Spades Jack of Spades

Baril: Ace of Hearts Queen of Hearts 10 of Hearts 10 of Diamonds

Board: Jack of Clubs 7 of Diamonds Queen of Spades 5 of Clubs 5 of Spades

Baril will take home $900 for the fourth place finish in addition to the bounties he collected throughout the night.

Play has just resumed in level 15, and Event #3 is down to the final four players. Stacy Levac has maintained his chip lead, however, Huy Monorith has jumped up the leader board and is not far behind Levac.

In a dramatic turn of event, Jean-Francois Daunais quickly went from being the chip leader at the final table to making his exit in seventh place.

Daunais had been very active, playing most hands he was dealt at the final table, but the cards eventually turned against him.

Stacy Levac has emerged as the new chip leader, after sending Daunais to the rail in seventh place.

Levac opened the action, before Daunais put out a three-bet that Levac called. The rest of the chips quickly went in on the flop.

Daunais: Ace of Hearts Ace of Spades 7 of Diamonds 7 of Hearts

Levac: 5 of Clubs 10 of Spades 9 of Clubs 8 of Clubs

Board: Queen of Spades 5 of Spades 5 of Diamonds 9 of Hearts Queen of Clubs

Event #3 has now reached the final table, with nine players remaining. Jean-Francois Daunais has held on to his huge chips and controls nearly a quarter of the chips in play. But the chip average still provides a significant amount of blinds so everyone still has a legitimate shot at taking this one down.

Jean-Francois Daunais continues to stack up the bounty chips, and he just added another to his collection by eliminating Sasan Mahrabian.

Mehrabian, a dangerous player who has numerous event cashes on his resume, opened the action from late position, and Daunais defended his blind by making the call. The chips went in on the flop, after Daunais check-raised to Mehrabian’s continuation bet.

Daunais: Ace of Clubs King of Clubs 6 of Diamonds 2 of Clubs

Mehrabian: Ace of Diamonds Queen of Clubs Jack of Hearts 4 of Hearts
