The players have left on their second break of the evening, and Jean-Francois Daunais has more than a fifth of the chips in play. Daunais ran hot in the lead-up to the break, managing to collect a few bounties and lots of tournament chips in the process.

There are only 13 players remaining, and the top five will collect some cash in addition to the bounty chips they captured throughout the evening.

Bruce Barbey, the self-described “pro fish” who rose to fame around the time of the MILLIONS North America event, has just been eliminated from Event #3 of the June Power Weekend. It will be a long journey home to Brisbane for Barbey, but it will give him enough time to collect his composure, reflect on his play and get ready for the next big event.

It was Jean-Francois Daunais who sent Barbey to the rail when Daunais’ Ace of Spades 8 of Spades 6 of Spades 2 of Diamonds got the best of Barbey’s Ace of Clubs 3 of Hearts 7 of Clubs 7 of Spades when the chips went in on a Ace of Diamonds 6 of Diamonds Ace of Hearts flop. The turn, 6 of Clubs, and river, 3 of Spades, provided no help to Barbey, and he hit the rail in nineteenth place.

Event #3 brought out a field of 40 entries, enough to surpass the prize pool guarantee and put an even million chips in play. Thanks to the early eliminations, the field is now playing deep stacks; the chip average now provides roughly 47 big blinds. The players left in the field have settled in for the long grind and have enough chips to take any line they want on their way.

Here is what they are playing for:

    Rank | PosPrize | Bourse
    1st$2,880
    2nd$1,910
    3rd$1.270

We have just entered our seventh level of play in Event #3, and 21 players remain in contention. The play has settled down now that the re-entry period has ended and the bounty hunting of the early levels gives way to more standard tournament play. The 21 remaining players are now trying to grind their way to a stack of 1,000,000 in chips and claim the first place prize.

Here are some of the players left in contention:

The first segment of the PLO Event is now behind us. Our 4-card poker players have been shooting pretty heavily in the first levels, as is often the case in this game, and Huy Monorith took advantage.

Forty players joined in so far. Here is our current top 3:

As we approach the end of the second level of play in Event #3, 24 runners have thrown their hats into the ring, and the ice has been broken on the re-entries. The mood around the table is jovial, with jokes and bounty chips being tossed around in equal measure. With slightly less than an hour left in the late registration and re-entry period, there’s plenty of time to jump in for a chance at part of the $10,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Here’s a look at the field:
