David Sorgente

Event 5 of the Playground Poker Winter Festival is now in the money. After forming the last 2 tables, players were instantly hand-for-hand, as 17 players were getting paid today. That order of things lasted for about 20 minutes, until David Sorgente picked up Ace of Spades 9 of Spades on the button. The action folded to him, so he did not wait long before he pushed his 116K in the middle, representing 11.6 big blinds. However, David Bonneau had a little surprise for him. He woke up with Ace of Hearts King of Diamonds, and immediately made the call.

Board: 8 of Diamonds 2 of Diamonds Ace of Clubs 4 of Spades 7 of Hearts

Sorgente found no help, and so he stood up, congratulated everyone, and walked away like a gentleman.

Shortly after, David Bonneau put his new found riches to work. When we got to the table, he was all-in for 220K, with about 125K in the pot, and his Marton Szlavy was in the tank. The board was 3 of Spades Jack of Hearts 8 of Hearts Ace of Hearts. Marton pondered for quite a while, and finally elected to make the call.

David Bonneau: 3 of Diamonds 3 of Clubs
Marton Szlavy:   Ace of Diamonds 9 of Hearts

As Bonneau was screaming ”No heart!”, the dealer obliged, and put down the 6 of Clubs. He then proceeded to push 550K towards David Bonneau. Play has now picked up the pace, and the shortest stacks are being pushed.

Stay tuned!
