Players are in the money? Well, this being a Bounty Event, most of them have been showing profit for some time now. Getting into the prize pool table only adds to the money associated with the number of knockouts performed. This being said, the final table payouts far outweigh the Bounties earned, making those bounties less and less valuable, relatively speaking.

Benjamin Ménard is still our chip leader, having over half a million, while short stacks have been shoving as a group since the bursting of the bubble. We now have 2 tables.

The Bounty tournament just moved to a 3-table game. Players are stacking up Bounties, while others are just trying to skim their way into the money. With 27 places paid and 29 players left, hand-for-hand is just around the corner.

Players took another break, during which the T100 chips were raced off. We put together a list of players who accumulated over 200K in chips. Mathieu Boulanger-Vaugeois, former chip leader, did not make the cut, as his stack was seriously dented. Benjamin Ménard, the new Bounty captain, is sitting on over 400K, almost 4 times the average (see picture on the right)!

We caught an interesting run out between Eric Bienenstock and Paul Betten, when they got it in on the flop. Eric had Jack of Hearts 9 of Hearts, while Paul had Queen of Clubs 10 of Diamonds.

Board: 10 of Hearts 7 of Spades 9 of Spades  Queen of Hearts

That turn came with a lot of baggage , completing 2 pairs for Paul, yet bringing Eric closer to victory, having improved from a one-pair gut-shot to a one-pair open-ended flush draw! It was only a tease though, as the 4 of Clubs river card was the biggest of bricks. Paul pulled the 100K+ pot.

Here is the new leaderboard, composed of stacks 200K high or more, followed by some of their photos:

Players are now down to 6 tables, all on the left side of the tournament hall. Main Event players bagged their chips and await tomorrow’s Day 2, but the hall is still crowded with a sea of cash games.

Mathieu Bélanger-Vaugeois (featured on the right) is leading the Bounty with 247K, and the second in chips, Grant Ellis, is sitting at his immediate right! Are we going to see sparks? Future will tell, and we’ll tell you.

He is the updated top 10:

Event 11 is moving fast towards the money. We are now playing at level 12, and there will be a break soon, during which the leaderboard will be updated. Spoiler: Mathieu Boulanger-Vaugeois is sitting on a monster stack, about 250K deep, topped with 7 Bounty chips!

The second break is now behind us, and almost half the field have ceded their Bounty. This means that some players have already stacked a few of them, as well as tournament chips. Here is a list of those who have done that best, forming a top 10:

First Name | PrénomLast Name | NomStack | Tapis
IsmaelKeita137,000
MathieuBoulanger-Vaugeois129,000
MarcelloIacovella118,500
AndreasKanakis105,000
MichaelTaylor87,000
MitchellDredge81,000
BrianMorgan79,500
IanMorton76,500
StergiosAlexandrakis75,000
GrantEllis73,000

On the last hand before the break, Marcello Iacovella won a 4-way pre-flop all-in hand, good for a pot of 118K and 2 bounties! Holding Ace of Hearts King of Spades, he bested Jack of Hearts 8 of Hearts, Ace of Diamonds 4 of Spades and Queen of Hearts Queen of Clubs by flopping a king and dodging a flush draw and a couple of queens. This pot propelled him in 3rd place. Nice one!
