Not long ago, Michael Aron was all-in and at risk on the bubble with only 22,500 (4.5 big blinds) to his name. His Ace of Clubs King of Clubs doubled through the Queen of Spades 8 of Hearts of Alexandre Lavigne, and since then he managed to run his stack up and above 350,000.

Once play fell 6-handed, he got involved in two back-to-back hands versus chip-leader Nicolas Le Floch which spelled his elimination.

On the first hand, he limped from the button and called a raise from Nicolas in the small blind to go heads-up to the flop. Michael followed Nicolas’ flop-bet, but let go of his hand when Nicolas fired a hefty 100,000 turn-bet.

On the next hand, Michael opened to 25,000 from the cutoff, and Nicolas 3-bet to 52,000 from the button. Michael moved all-in for just under 150,000 and found a quick call.

Michael: Ace of Clubs Queen of Diamonds
Nicolas: King of Spades King of Clubs

The 10 of Diamonds 6 of Clubs 10 of Spades 9 of Diamonds 6 of Spades runout was no good for Michael, sending him out of the Second Chance Event in 6th place. Nicolas climbed to 1,250,000 with that pot and has a strangle-hold lead on the field, nearing 50% of the chips in play 5-handed.

6th place: Michael Gary Aron – $7,220.00

Alexandre Lavigne saw the variance swing back his was in Stephane Fournier’s elimination hand, after losing the last few pots he involved himself in.

Sitting in the cutoff, Alexandre open-shoved for a little over 200,000, and Stephane came along from the small blind with his last 115,000.

Alexandre: King of Hearts Queen of Clubs
Stephane: Ace of Clubs King of Clubs

Board: 6 of Hearts 4 of Diamonds 2 of Diamonds 10 of Diamonds Queen of Diamonds

7th place: Stephane Fournier – $6,120.00

The tides have shifted on this final table, and Alexandre Lavigne’s once chip-lead stack has been diminished to below average stack. Nicolas Le Floch has taken over the lead as he nears the 1-million chip mark – he currently holds over 33% of the chips in play.

Play is about to resume in level 21, with blinds increasing to 6K/12K/a2K. Stephane Fournier is nearing the danger zone of 10 big blinds, and will have to work some magic if he hopes to spin up his stack.

Below are the chip counts of the final 7 players:

Nicolas Le Floch has chipped his way into the lead in the last level of play, and has just added another few stacks of chips to his armory by eliminating Ronnie Hallett in 8th place.

Ronnie opened to 22,000 from the button, and Nicolas 3-bet to 60,000 from the big blind before calling off Ronnie’s 4-bet all-in of around 180,000.

Ronnie: Ace of Hearts Jack of Diamonds
Nicolas: Ace of Diamonds King of Hearts

Nicolas caught a king and held for the win on a 9 of Clubs 9 of Spades King of Diamonds 3 of Spades 9 of Hearts board, extending his lead 7-handed. His current stack sits at around 825,000.

8th place: Lonnie Hallett – $5,340.00

Moments after the final table of the Second Chance began, Yann Prevost-Dumont open-shoved for 99,000 from under the gun, and found isolation from Shawn Daigle in the small blind.

Yann: 6 of Hearts 6 of Diamonds
Shawn: 10 of Hearts 10 of Diamonds

The 4 of Clubs 7 of Hearts Ace of Spades 3 of Spades 4 of Spades board brought no help to Yann as he was the first player eliminated from this final table, collecting $4,160 for his run.

The next elimination was that of Daniel Le, who earned $4,710 for his 9th place finish. We missed the action but the elimination came near the start of level 20, and play is now 8-handed.
