Ismael Keita

With Ismael Keita’s elimination in 16th place, our Mega Stack players are now in the money. They are all guaranteed $680.00, and potentially win $10,250.00!

Just before hand-for-hand was enforced, Ali G was the victim of a serious bad beat. His Ace of Hearts Ace of Diamonds fell to King of Clubs King of Spades when the board presented 4 spades, in a runner-runner fashion. Ali walked away, not mad, but resigned.

Ismael called all-in under when monster stack Andrew Hanson shoved from mid-position. Andrew tabled Ace of Clubs 10 of Hearts, and Ismael showed 10 of Spades 10 of Clubs. He was in good shape, but the board disagreed: 2 of Diamonds King of Diamonds 5 of Clubs Ace of Hearts Jack of Clubs. When the ace fell, Alex Keo said Andrew had hit a 1-outer, meaning he had mucked an ace himself.

Congratulations to all money earners!

Players just took another break, and the T1000 are now off the tables. We put together a list of the current top 5 stacks, and Andrew Hansen, thanks to the last hand before the break, is leading the pack with 1,150,000 chips! Behrooz Salemi also has cracked the million mark. The average stack now represents 12 big blinds, so we can expect players to clash at an unbridled pace.

Here is our top 5:

The Mega Stack just dropped to 3 tables, and stacks are increasingly obscene. We will bring you an updated leaderboard in a about an hour, once the next break allows it. Note that Maria Ho is still around, having registered late in the Event, after busting from the Second Chance.

Players are resuming play after a short break, during which the tournament staff raced off 2 different denominations of chips, namely the T100 and the T500. We surveyed the 5 remaining tables to create a leaderboard, and found 8 players that had over 5 times the starting stack. The list is overseen by Dan Edery, followed very closely by Alex Keo. Both have over 500K.

Here is our current top 8:
