Stuart Taylor keeps ruling

Taylor’s table is by far the heaviest of the 4, having 4 of the top 10 players on it. Taylor’s stack is so big that only 10 of the remaining 27 players are above average. Of course, anything can happen, but this man sure knows what he’s doing, and he has a lot to do it with.

Here is our chip leader, behind his pyramid of wealth, followed by our current top ten:

Stuart Taylor

Stuart Taylor is definitely the new tournament captain, after taking out Emmanuel Francoeur. When a short stack went all-in for 30K, he just called from the button, and Emmanuel made it 75K, in the hopes of isolating the initial raiser. But he was in for an unpleasant surprise, as Stuart came over the top for almost 200K all-in. Emmanuel tanked for a while, and decided to call with nines, only to realize that Stuart had set a major trap, and that he was the bait. Stuart’s aces held smoothly, and he even added to his stack since then, sky-rocketing his chips to over 500K.

Emmanuel Francoeur

Emmanuel Francoeur, a well-know cash game player here at Playground Poker Club, is just a few chips short of 200K, good for the lead after 12 levels of play. He is know for his ”no back down” approach to the game, which can serve well in a tournament of this type. We’ll see if he can continue to make law at his table.

He is a list of our top 5 stacks at the moment of the break, all over 150K.

The field is dropping quite steadily, and is now under the 100-player mark. Lots of chips are moving from one hand to another, and quite a few players now have more than 100K. In about 10 minutes, players will take another short break, during which the leaderboard will be updated. Stay tuned!
