Day 2 of The $250 Frenzy has come to a close with 24 players remaining, who will return to the felts tomorrow night and play down to a winner. Action resumes at 7pm sharp, with blind levels increased to 40-minutes long. Players will keep the seating assignments from the end of Day 2.

Leading the field is Jonathan, who bagged a stack of 2,510,000. Second in chips is Benoit Lord (1,915,000), while Jean Allan Christine (1,405,000) spun his stack up into 3rd place in the last level of play.

On the last hand of play, Jordan Saccucci found himself all-in pre-flop and at risk with 10 of Spades 10 of Hearts versus the Ace of Spades Ace of Clubs of Santiago Plante. He managed to flop a set and even turn quads to earn the 1.23 million chip pot, propelling him into 4th place overall. Full counts of all 24 players are found below.

A handful of players bagged short stacks to close the night, and we can expect to see some quick eliminations early in the day tomorrow. Follow live coverage and photos throughout the day via our Playground Poker Blog.

See you tomorrow!

We’ve reached the final level of play here in Day 2 of The $250 Frenzy, and 29 players are still in contention of becoming our Event 3 champion! Once time runs out in this last level, the surviving players will bag and tag onto Day 3, where we will crown our tournament winner.

There will be a full seating redraw once the field reaches 27 players. Should this happen before the end of Day 2, the players will return to the same seating arrangements tomorrow in Day 3.

Heads-up in a limped-pot preflop, Jonathan (big blind) was staring at a Ace of Hearts Ace of Diamonds Queen of Hearts flop and faced with a check-raise to 110K from Endrit Geci (small blind). He placed a re-raise to 236K, and Endrit completed the bet.

When the turn brought the 8 of Clubs, Endrit fired a small bet of 64K, which was followed by a call.

Once the river brought the 7 of Hearts, Endrit elected for a check. Jonathan announced a bet of 275K, forcing Endrit into the tank. He isolated the call from the rest of his stack, made some final calculations in his head then slid forward some chips to signify a call.

Jonathan tabled Ace of Clubs 8 of Hearts for a full-house, while Endrit flashed his Ace of Spades 10 of Clubs. With that hand, Jonathan joined the chip leaders, as he, Naghibollah Noori and Benoit Lord all hold roughly 1.5 million.

Benoit Lord opened to 40,000 from utg, and found calls from 3 players on the table. Everyone checked on the 8 of Diamonds 9 of Clubs 10 of Clubs flop. When the turn brought the King of Diamonds, Benoit slid forward a bet of 155K, and went into the tank once Nicholas Pitre announced all-in. He finally made the call for his tournament life, tabling King of Hearts 9 of Hearts. Nicholas tabled a trailing King of Clubs Queen of Hearts, and couldn’t improve on the 2 of Spades river.

Benoit found a full double-up of his 513K, plus the nearly 200K already in the pot, which propelled him amongst the chip-leaders. Nicholas was left with a little over 120K behind, which he lost 2 hands later to the hands of Michael Malm.

Players are now into level 24 with 43 remaining.
