With late registration now over, the prize pool has been released for Event 7 in the Playground Winter Festival, a one-day $500 + $100 + $500 NL Hold’em Bounty tournament. There were 145 players in the event, contributing to a “traditional” prize pool of $70,325.00. There is an equivalent amount of prizes represented by the players’ bounty chips, but these are not tracked and will not be part of the official results in the event.

The players in today’s $1,100 50/50 Bounty have just returned from their first break of the day and we were able to produce an early leaderboard while players were away from the table. So far, Mounzer Awada is firmly in the lead playing about 77,000 in tournament chip and with 2 bounties won already.

A couple of players of note have just joined the tournament, including Event 5 Champion Ruben Perceval and well-known player Maria Ho. Registration continues until the end of level 6 at 2:15pm.

Today’s tournament is a $500 + $100 + $500 NL Hold’em 50/50 Bounty event.

You read correctly – each player in this amazing bounty tournament has a $500 Bounty chip that they must cede to the player that eliminates them from the tournament! Not $25, not $100… Five hundred dollars!

This is the third time we’ve hosted at 50/50 Bounty tournament at this buy-in level, and if history is a guide it’s sure to be a fantastic tournament. Given the sometimes wild dynamics of any bounty tournament, it’s certain to be one of the most fun events on the schedule as the pressure is amped up by such a huge bounty chip. Not only will the “traditional” prize pool be impressive, but the prizes locked up in players’ bounty chips is HUGE!

This is a one-day event. Blinds throughout will be 30 minutes in length and players start with a 25K stack. As is the case for all events with a buy in of greater than $500, late registration will be available through the first 6 levels of the tournament, which means that players have until 2:15pm to join in the fun – and we expect to draw new players right until the end of late reg.
