With the first break of Day 1D now behind us, we have our total amount of entries for this first event of the Playground Poker Winter Festival. This last flight attracted a huge 340 player-field, bringing the combined total through 4 flights in The Wild $150 up to 1,197 entries! Once the tournament staff crunches the numbers, we will release all the pertinent prize pool information. As a reminder, Day 2 will take place tomorrow night at 7pm, and qualifying players will need to present a valid piece of ID when they arrive at the table.

Keep on banking your Winter Festival Tournament $

One of the new promotions on partypoker for the Winter Festival were WFT$ Satellites – online satellite tournaments that pay out in “Tournament Dollars”. Tournament $ are funds that are banked in partypoker and can be used to buy in to any event in the Winter Festival. It’s easy to redeem WFT$ directly at the Playground Poker Club cashier – just let them know when you go to buy your ticket that you’d like to pay (in full or in part) with your partypoker WFT$.

The program has been very popular, and well over 100 players managed to bank Tournament $ before the Winter Festival began – and there’s still time to play and win!

Winter Festival Tournament $ satellites will continue to run all week until Sunday – so log in to partypoker and keep on banking your $$!

Tonight – Day 1C of The Wild $150

In less than an hour, Day 1C of The Wild $150 gets underway (at 7:00pm) and players will have their second-last chance to qualify for Day 2 in the $100K GTD event. There were a total of 561 entries on Day 1A and 1B, and so far there are 116 players that have qualified for Day 2.

With such large numbers having entered the event yesterday, the field should blow right past the guaranteed prize pool tonight, and by the end of late registration we’ll likely see that every additional entry has added money beyond the already-formidable $100K to the prizes – and Day 1D will just add more!

Play will continue for 14 levels tonight and at the end of the action we’ll post a full list of Day 2 qualifiers and their stack sizes, as well as a single list of all qualifiers so far. You can check the results to date at any time: just visit the Event 1 Results page.

The wait is over! Starting today and continuing through February 15th, Playground Poker Club will once again welcome the world to our doors for the 16 events of the Playground Winter Festival presented by partypoker!

As per tradition in festivals at Playground Poker Club, the Winter Festival kicks off with The Wild $150, a $135 + $15 NL Hold’em Re-entry event with 4 Day 1s and a massive $100,000 prize pool. There are two starting flights today – Day 1a starts at 11:00am, and Day 1b will get underway at 7:00pm tonight. The following two starting flights will be on Monday and Tuesday – they both start at 7:00pm.

Players for Day 1a will be let into the Tournament Hall shortly and will take their places to begin play in about 10 minutes – good luck to everyone playing today!
