The 157 players remaining have assembled around the 18 9-handed tables that will start the day and action has just now begun in Day 2 of the WPT Playground.

Action should be quick to start the day as there are a number of very short stacks in the action, but we expect the pace of play to settle down reasonably soon as the bubble is quite far off to start the day.

The WPT Playground is set to move into its next phase as Day 2 in the event is set to get underway at 12:00pm in the Tournament Hall here at Playground Poker Club. There are 157 players left in the event and play will continue today through 9 60-minute levels, during which the money bubble will most likely be achieved, though perhaps not until quite deep in the day.

We know there are a lot of players excited to get things going today, but perhaps none more than Kristen Bicknell, who sent the following tweet a few minutes ago:

WPT Playground Day 2 seating draw (with counts)

This is the official seating chart for Day 2 of the WPT Playground with player-reported chip counts for each player. There were a total of 159 stacks that qualified for Day 2, but two players qualified through both Day 1A and Day 1B (Benny Chen with 72,400 and 13,600, Jean-Francois Bouchard with 64,400 and 14,400). Therefore, as per the rules of the tournament, each of these players’ smaller stacks have been removed from play.

This means there are 157 players that will begin Day 2 on February 12th at 12:00pm.

The 10 levels scheduled to be played during Day 1B of the WPT Playground are now complete, and we are ready to move onto Day 2. From the 380 total entries that took place, 159 bagged chips at the end of their starting flights, including 54 from Day 1A and 105 from Day 1B.

The biggest stack of the flight belongs to Michel-Claude Baroud, who bagged a hefty 201,800 – a touch shy of the overall chip leader Anthony Zinno (209,200) but still second in chips overall for Day 2. Other big stacks from Day 1B include Jean-Pascal Savard (186,400), Zachary Donovan (165,400), Ramesh Puradchithasan (162,000), Ruben Perceval (156,500), Thundup Ringpa (153,800), Doug Hartwick (144,700) and Kelly Kellner (135,800). The full list of player-reported chip counts from the two starting flights are available here: Day 1A | Day 1B. Seating assignments for Day 2 will be published when tournament staff makes it available.

A cool $241,500 is reserved for the eventual tournament champion, in addition to a US$15,000 WPT Tournament of Champions seat, valued at C$19,500. The top 48 players will lock in a cash prize, and an appearance on the 6-handed final table will secure a $45,690 cash. Information about the prize-pool and payout structure can be found here.

Day 2 takes place tomorrow at 12pm, and will play through 9 levels of 1-hour before players bag onto Day 3. As a reminder, all qualifiers will need to bring a piece of photo ID with them to the felts tomorrow.
