The opening formalities are done and play has now begun in Day 1B of the WPT Playground. As expected, registration is bumped up significantly from Day 1A – there are already 129 players at the tables with a steady stream joining in every few minutes.

Play today will continue through 10 60-minute levels with breaks every second level and a 45-minute dinner break following level 6. The end of the dinner break is also the end of late registration – and the end of re-entries in the tournament as well.

Good luck to everyone playing today!

Next up is Day 1B of the WPT Playground

2017/02/11 - 10:10 by

In just under an hour, players will assemble in the Tournament Hall at Playground Poker Club to begin play in Day 1B of the WPT Playground. This is the second and final starting day in the event, and players are permitted one entry and one re-entry any time until the end of the dinner break after level 6.

Day 1A saw 134 total entries take their place in the tournament, and 54 players have booked their seat for Day 2 on Sunday. There are still a significant number of satellite seats that were won but have not yet been played, and between those seats and the general uptick in participation on the final Day 1 of any event, it should be a blockbuster today.

Players travelling from downtown Montreal should be aware that although some side streets are a little bit slippery, the highway to take to get to Playground Poker Club is in fine form today, and the snow clearing and salt trucks have been doing a very good job of making sure the drive is very smooth and safe today. We *do* snow well in the Montreal area!

Good luck!

Zinno bags the lead as Day 1A closes with 54 players

Day 1A of the partypoker.net WPT Playground has come to a close, and of the 134 entries that took place (116 players, 18 re-entries) 54 were left when it was time to bag chips. Through the 10 levels of play, Anthony Zinno managed to turn his 30,000 starting stack into a massive 209,200, claiming the chip-lead in this first of two flights.

Other big stacks from today include Jake Schwartz (163,100), Rayan Chamas (162,100), Ted Doukas (157,700) and Nicolas Le Floch (156,500). The full list of player-reported chip counts from Day 1A has been published and is available under the “Results” menu, above.

The second and final flight to this Main Event in the Playground Poker Winter Festival takes place tomorrow, with Day 1B kicking off at 11am. Late registration will be available through until the end of the dinner-break following level 6, and players will therefore have until 6:15pm to register (or re-enter, should they have the misfortune of being eliminated from play).

Don’t miss your chance at taking home a piece of the 7-figure prize-pool!
