Day 1B of the partypoker.net WPT Playground is now on a 45-minute dinner break, and the late registration period will close once action resumes in level 7.
Leading the field after 6 levels of play is Kelly Kellner, who went on a heater leading up to the break, building a stack of 168,150 in the process. He tweeted about his big double-up hand near the start of level 6, where he flopped a set of 5s versus the top-pair of chip-leader at the time Marco Casa. Marco turned top-two and all the money went in, resulting in a 110,000 pot that was sent in Kelly’s direction. Kelly then went on to win a few more pots on his road to the top of the leaderboard.
Jean-Pascal Savard is in a close second in chips with 161,900, and he and Kelly have a distinct lead over the rest of the field, as third in chips Thundup Ringpa currently sits on 118,125.
