This last of four Live starting flights in the tournament has now come to a close with a whopping 432 of 1016 entries still at the table to bag chips.
Players started with 50,000 in chips and played through ten 60-minute levels. After those 10 levels of play the 432 players are bagging chips, talking poker, and setting their calendars for Day 2 tomorrow as they exit the Tournament venues.
Day 2 will kick off at 12:00pm Saturday, September 1st. Today alone there have been more qualifying players added to the Day 2 list than all of the other flights combined, including online. The turnout here at Playground Poker Club has been incredible, and it will be very interesting to see how many additional people register directly into Day 2. The Main Event allows for direct buy-ins during the first two levels of Day 2, providing everyone plenty of opportunities to get their share of the $2,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.
Today’s final results will be added to the Main Event Day 1 Combined Results shortly.
The chip leader for this last live flight is Dov Markowich who bagged 396,900 chips. Also near the top of the list today are Trevor Delaney, Joel Giguere and John Courage, the only other three players with more than 350,000 chips.
