Eric Vanauken had managed to chip up considerably throughout the day until at one point he was among the leaders, but eventually his stack dwindled after a couple of lost hands along the way and by the deal-making break he was among the short-stacks at the table. On his ultimate hand, it was a standard blind-on-blind hand between Eric (sb) and Nathan Hall (bb) – Eric shoved, Nathan called, the cards were exposed.

Eric: Ace of Spades 4 of Clubs
Nathan: Ace of Clubs 7 of Hearts

On the Queen of Clubs King of Spades 5 of Clubs flop most around the table expected a chop, but running small cards – 2 of Spades 6 of Spades meant the Nathan’s 7 kicker played.

Just a couple of hands later (on the same orbit), Nathan was on the cutoff and shoved into Danny, who made the call.

Nathan: King of Diamonds Jack of Diamonds
Danny: Ace of Spades Jack of Spades

The board runout came 7 of Hearts 2 of Diamonds 2 of Clubs Ace of Clubs 5 of Hearts and Nathan hit the rail in 5th place. Nathan’s $72,000 prize will get a great boost from the partypoker LIVE $50,000 Last Longer promo that he won last night!

    6th place: Eric Vanauken, $52,000

    5th place: Nathan Hall, $72,000
