As we approach the end of the first level of play, 160 players have thrown their hats in the running on Day 1B. We have only seen three re-entries so far, but given that this event permits a single re-entry on each Day 1 that number will multiply before the day’s end.

Here’s a look at some of the players in the field:

Up next: Day 1B of the Main Event!

    2018/08/29 | 11:56 by Shawn McCrory

We are gearing up for another busy day here at Playground as the second live starting of the Main Event is set to get underway.

Players will start Day 1B of the $1,000 + $100 Main Event with 50,000 in chips and play ten 60-minute levels on their journey through this 4-day event. The Main Event allows for a single re-entry per flight, as well as direct buy-ins during the first two levels of Day 2, providing everyone plenty of opportunities to get their share of the $2,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Day 1A brought out 260 players, but thanks to the two well-attended mega satellites that ran yesterday, expect to see a larger field in this afternoon. A total of 776 players took a shot at yesterday’s satellites, providing 70 among them tickets for the Main Event.

There will be another Main Event Mega Satellite running today at 2pm. For the modest price of $110, this Mega Satellite guarantees at least 30 more seats, giving players of all levels a great opportunity to play their way in to the Main Event. There is some great value to be had here, so expect to see many players who already have Main Event tickets take a shot to get a discounted second (or third or fourth) bullet.

The players are beginning to make their way in to the tournament hall, and the cards will be in the air soon. Good luck to all!

Main Event Day 1B starts at Noon

    2018/08/29 | 10:25 by

Day 1A – and its 260 entries – broke the ice yesterday in the $1,000 + $100 Main Event of the WSOP-C Playground, and today the event moves to Day 1B – the 2nd of 4 Live starting flights in the tournament. If history is any guide, today’s flight should be similar in scale to yesterday, as new players join and unsuccessful Day 1A players take another shot at a piece of the $2,000,000 guarantee.

Each of Day 1 flight permits a single re-entry until the end of play on Day 1. Players will start with 50,000 in chips and play through ten 60-minute levels. Everyone who makes it through to the end will bag up chips to take to Day 2. Players who don’t feel they’ve bagged enough chips to make a solid run through Day 2 may also give it another try – players will start Day 2 with the largest stack they manage to build through all of the Day 1s. And players with additional bags available on Day 2 may use them to re-enter if things don’t go smoothly with their largest stack – re-entry is available not only on Day 1s, but through to the beginning of level 13 on Day 2 as well!

Action gets underway at 12:00pm but players can enter or re-enter throughout today’s Day 1B. Good luck to all!

Last hands of Day 1A through the lens

    2018/08/28 | 23:59 by

Here are some photos taken during the final few minutes of Day 1A in the WSOP-C Playground Main Event. This first of four Live starting flights in the tournament has now come to a close with 89 of 260 entries still at the table to bag chips.

Today’s final results have been added to the Main Event Day 1 Combined Results and there we find that the chip leader for this starting flight is none other than Jeff Cormier – a player that has had a lot of great results at Playground Poker Club in the past. Also near the top of the list today are Joshua Frazer James, Tam Ho, Kevin Macdonald, and Patrick Quinn. Further down the list, but nevertheless qualified for Day 2, are Ruben Perceval, Kristen Bicknell, Louis Boutin, and Mike Sexton.

Day 1A in the WSOP-C Playground Main Event has been running since 12:00pm, and players have just now taken their final break of the day before the final two levels to be played tonight. Attendance in this first of four live flights has been strong with over 200 unique players and 49 re-entries – it’s a great start.

At the break, we found Tam Ho to have the largest stack by a good margin on the rest of the field, and even if he were to finish with exactly that count, it would vault him into first place overall including the Online Day 1s that have already been held.

The players have just returned from their second break of the afternoon, and Tam Ho leads the field with more than triple the average in chips.

The field continues to grow steadily, bringing the total number of entries up to 208. We have had 19 entries so far, showing that many players came prepared to fire as many bullets as necessary to cash this event.

Here are the top four stacks in play:
