Although we are only two levels deep in the first flight of the Main Event, there are already some six-figure stacks in the field.

Ryan Andrade has the largest stack currently in play with 134,400 in chips. He is followed by Anthony Vacca with 120,400 and Omar Sibai rounds out the six-figure club with 106,500. While these players are sitting comfortably for the moment, this event will be more of a marathon than a sprint so only time will tell how they will fare.

The number of entries continues to rise steadily, putting more than 8 million in chips in play at this early juncture. Players will be able to enter and re-enter throughout the course of the day so expect a lot more entries and re-entries before the chips go in the bag tonight.

    The Main Event gains momentum

There are now 156 players in the running, with eight among them already on their second bullet of the day. The players will be leaving on their first break of the afternoon in a few minutes, stay tuned for the first leader board.

Although only a few minutes have passed in the first level of play, the ice has already been broken on the re-entries in the Main Event. There are now over 110 players in the running, and the number of entries is ticking up by the minute.

Here is a look at some of the players in the field:

    Here comes the Main Event!

    2018/08/28 | 11:51 by Shawn McCrory

The anticipation has been building, and the wait will be over soon as Event #2, the $1,000 + $100 Main Event of the WSOP-C Playground, kicks off today at noon. It will be the first of four live starting flights and each of these flights permits a single re-entry until the end of play on Day 1. Players will start with 50,000 in chips and play through ten 60-minute levels, as they start their journeys through this 4-day event.

If the Day 1s don’t pan out then everyone still has a shot at this one because players can also buy-in and re-enter until the beginning of level 13 on Day 2. Given the number of opportunities to enter and re-enter this event, expect to see some wild action in the early levels of each Day 1. The players are sure to come out with guns blazing, as they know that they can fire multiple bullets at the $2,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.

The tournament hall will be filled to capacity as the WSOP-C Playground shifts into high gear, with three tournaments running this afternoon. Event #1, the Colossus, continues as play enters Day 3 where only 37 of the original 3,503 entries remain. Also, Day 2 of Event #3, the Monster Stack, is set to get underway at 1pm when 154 players will return to play down until there is a winner.

It’s going to be an action-packed day. Good luck to all!

Main Event – Online Day 1B results

    2018/08/27 | 16:41 by

The Main Event in the WSOP-C Playground continued last night with Online Day 1B, and 40 players took the opportunity to book a stack to take to Day 2 in the tournament. Of those 40, 18 players were successful and bagged chips to bring forward to the Live portion of the event.

Alexandre Pruneau managed to bag the largest stack, having put 248,200 into the “virtual” sealed bag at the end of the night, but behind him on the list is an impressive group of players, including noted Polish pro Dzmitry Urbanovich, local player Rodney Ramalho, online icon TJ Ulmer, and Samuel Tsehai – other than Urbanovich, who may be visiting for his first time, each of these players is well known for their deep runs in Playground events.

Next the event turns to the 4 Live Day 1s beginning tomorrow, Tuesday August 28th, at 12:00pm. The event is a single re-entry with late registration or re-entries available throughout any Day 1, and then into Day 2. See the Main Event Rules & Structure Sheet for full details.

The chip leader after this first flight is Ryan Boudreau who managed to accumulate 260,200 chips in Day 1A Online, but there are many other players also on the initial results list who are well known at Playground, including Mike Leah, Edward Hislop, Dan Edery, Timothy Deering, and Sylvain Siebert.

Play in the Main Event continues tonight at 7:00pm on partypoker with Day 1B – Online, and then attention will turn to Live action play in the tournament with Day 1A on Tuesday, August 28th.
