Eric Afriat raised all-in with his last 520K and action folded around to Adam Shannon in the bb, who instantly called.

Eric: Queen of Spades Queen of Diamonds
Adam: Ace of Clubs 6 of Clubs

The flop came Jack of Diamonds 5 of Diamonds 3 of Hearts and then the turn Queen of Clubs sealed the deal, with the 3 of Diamonds river just being overkill in the hand.

When Adam’s stack was counted down, it was confirmed that he was playing a smaller stack than Eric and he hit the rail in 13th place. Eric Afriat climbed up to over 900K (30bb).

13th place: Adam Shannon, $25,470.00

Day 4 players have now seen two levels fly by so far, with 13 players still in action and Mohammad Abu-Hadbah at the head. Start of day chip leader Eric Afriat slipped to the bottom of the leaderboard after a series of tough spots saw his stack dwindle to 310,000. Full counts going to level 25 are listed below.

The unofficial final table will be formed when the field shrinks to 9 finalists, and play will continue in Day 4 until the final 6-handed televised final table is set.

Feizal Satchu was sitting with 345,000 in chips when he pulled the trigger from the button, after action had folded around to him. Justin Liberto made the call from the small blind before Curt Kohlberg raised all-in from the big blind. Justin asked for a count, and after some deliberation he declined to pay the extra 609,000 chips to stay in the hand and mucked his cards.

Feizal: King of Clubs 6 of Diamonds
Curt: Jack of Clubs Jack of Spades

Feizal picked up some equity with a straight draw on the flop, but never wound up connecting to anything on the 5 of Spades 4 of Clubs 7 of Spades Queen of Spades 5 of Clubs board to end his run in 14th place. Curt is slowly rebuilding his stack after losing a huge pot earlier in the level to Mohammad, and now hovers at around 1.6 million.

14th place: Feizal Satchu – $25,470.00

Abu-Hadbah doubles into the chip lead

Chip leader Curt Kohlberg opened to 60,000 from middle position, and Mohammad Abu-Hadbah (pictured below) 3-bet to 225,000 from the button before Curt 4-bet all-in, finding a quick call.

Curt: Ace of Diamonds King of Spades
Mohammad: Ace of Spades Ace of Hearts

Board: 8 of Hearts 7 of Diamonds 4 of Spades 7 of Hearts 8 of Diamonds

Once the hand was done and Mohammad slid forward his 1,341,000 stack to be doubled, Curt looked surprised with the count – it appears he had not realized the size of his opponents stack. He took a brief walk away from the table to regain composure before settling back in his seat.

With that hand, Mohammad is the new chip leader with over 2.7 million chips, while Curt dropped to around 1 million chips.

Counts for the 14 remaining players

  • Small Blind: 12K
  • Big Blind: 24K
  • Ante: 4K
  • Chip Average: 1.3M

The first level of the day has been completed and players have taken a short break. While they were away from the tables, we managed to get full chip counts for everyone left in the tournament.

In addition, Tournament staff introduced the orange 100K chip into play during the break as well. A full stack of those is 2M in chips! No one’s close to have so much yet, but it won’t be long…

When action folded around to Ryan Rivers in the small blind, he moved in for his remaining 211,000 chips. Curt Kohlberg made the call for a fraction of his stack, and the two were in a 50/50 race.

Curt: King of Diamonds 10 of Diamonds
Ryan: 8 of Clubs 8 of Hearts

Curt took the lead on the flop and held on till the river of a Jack of Hearts King of Spades 9 of Spades 10 of Spades 4 of Clubs to shrink the field by one, sending Ryan to the rail in 15th place. Justin Liberto was moved to his seat to balance the tables, which are now both 7-handed.

15th place: Ryan Rivers – $25,470.00
