Play has begun in level 13 with 57 players left of the 188 who started today. With just two levels yet to play, there is still time for people to build up big stacks to take to Day 2 – and a few players have been steadily growing their counts throughout the day.
At the beginning of this level, Robert Johnson and Tina Frascarelli were still the chip leaders with stacks now surpassing 185K. Following him are several players hovering around 130K – Jonathan Bussieres, Eric Levesque, and Isham Yamani. Following these three players are several more between about 95K and 115K – any of whom could challenge for the chip lead before the day is though.
The players in Event 3 Day 1c have just taken their second break of the day while tournament staff removed the green T25 chips from play, and we took the opportunity to find the current leaders during the pause.
Event 3 may have a relatively low buy-in, but that hasn’t stopped some notable players from jumping into the action today.
Players are back from the first break of the day and late registration has closed, with 188 total entries for today’s starting flight, which brings the total number of entries to 514 in the three Day 1s that have been held so far.
Before the break we took a few more photos of the field playing today.
There are now 174 players who have bought in to Day 1c of the event – and with about 40 minutes left for late registration, there’s still enough time to get to Playground and take your seat!

The players are approaching the end of Day 1b of Event 3, the $250 Frenzy ($225 + $25 NL Hold’em Re-entry) in the Playground Poker Fall Classic. There are 50 players left in the action on 5 tables, and the stacks are relatively balanced around the room. Jean-Pierre Hétu and Derek Lerner have separated from the rest of the field, having accumulated over 200K in chips. There is still a level and a half to play this evening, and with blinds going up it will be no surprise to see lots of action between now and the end of Day 1b.
