In a preflop war with Ratharam Sivagnanam, Phillip Hui and his remaining ~1,500,000 chips found themselves all-in and needing help.

Jonathan Jaffe has been running over the field in this Day 4 of the WPT Montreal, and we’ve rarely seen him get out of line, but he just backed into a monster to lose a quarter of his stack.

Ratharam Sivagnanam opened to 120,000 from early position, and Jonathan 3bet to 300,000 from the button. Ratharam then 4bet to 780,000, to which Jonathan replied with a 5bet all-in. Ratharam made the quick call, and was well ahead preflop.

Although Jonathan made the nut flush, it was second best to Ratharam’s full house on the board. With that pot, Ratharam now sits on just over 5 million in chips.

After a min-raise from Jonathan Jeffe from under the gun, Lonnie Hallett announced all-in from the button, holding a stack of 1,600,000. While Jonathan was in the tank, Lonnie informed him that he has a big hand. Jonathan replied by saying “I believe you, but I still have to call”, and slid some chip forward to signify a call.

Lonnie paired his king on the flop, and it was looking like he was going to double up, until Jonathan made his set on the river of a board.

With that pot, Jonathan extended his chip lead, and is now just below the 10 million chip mark. With 22 million chips in play, he holds nearly 50% of them!

8th place: Lonnie Hallett – $59,490

Jonathan Jaffe, who has been quite active on this final table of the WPT Montreal, opened the action to 140,000 from the hijack position. Samuel Chartier then moved in for roughly 1,400,000 from the cutoff, which was followed by a quick all-in from Marc-Andre Ladouceur in the small blind, who had a stack of 1,300,000. Jonathan mucked his hand, letting the two local pros battle it out.

Samuel found the ace he needed on the flop, and the board was the last one Marc-Andre would see in this event.

9th place: Marc-Andre Ladouceur – $44,680

Mukul Pahuja dropped to the bottom of the leader board in the last level, however he just doubled up his stack to continue his pursuit of back-to-back final tables at the WPT Montreal.

After an open to 120,000 from Ratharam Sivagnanam in the cutoff, Mukul moved in for 685,000 from the small blind. Ratharam wasn’t too pleased with the spot, but made threw in some calling chips, and they went heads-up in the hand.

With no help on the board, Ratharam slid over a chunk of his stack to Mukul, who is up over 23 big blinds now.

Although we’ve seen a number of big pots this last level, including a few all-in situations, no one has yet busted from this unofficial final table of the 2014 WPT Montreal. Jonathan Jaffe has chipped up quite a bit, regaining the chip lead with 6,060,000, while Mukul Pahuja dropped to under 1 million for the short stack. Sheraz Nasir lost half his stack near the beginning of this final table, but doubled twice since, the first time through Mukul, and the second through Jonathan, but is still amongst the short stacks,
