Today’s starting flight of the $250 Frenzy has come to an end and the players who have qualified for Day 2 are bagging their chips. Everyone who has qualified for Day 2 will return on Monday evening at 7pm to begin play – unless, of course, they choose to try to qualify with a bigger stack through an additional Day 1 flight.

The tournament clock says that there are 26 players remaining, but we’ll have the final official tally along with their chip counts a bit later this evening.

A clear leader emerges

  • Level: 12
  • Small Blind: 800
  • Big Blind: 1.6K
  • Ante: 200
  • Chip Average: 70.5K
  • Remaining: 38
  • Entries: 134

At the last break we found several players all in the 100K+ zone, but in just 2.5 levels since then, Kiril Gelev has run away from the field, building a huge 200K stack. There are very few (if any) players within 75K of him at this point in this starting flight.

That being said, play today (and for each Day 1) is scheduled for 14 levels, so there are still 2 and a half levels left to go – we’ll see if anyone can join Kiril in the 200K zone.

There are about 5 minutes left in level 9 in today’s first starting flight of Event 3, and while the players are on break we’ll be able to start to find out who is moving ahead of the pack now that the day has passed its half way point.

At the current time there are still 64 players in the action out of the 134 who started the day.

Event 3 in the Playground Poker Fall Classic is called The $250 Frenzy – and it promises to be a fantastic event.

Why?

Well for one thing, there is a $200,000 Guarantee on the prize pool! So before a single hand has been played, there’s already incredible value in the tournament.

And with SIX starting flights – two today, two tomorrow, and two on Sunday, everyone can take multiple shots to qualify to move forward to Day 2 and stay in contention for what are sure to be some amazing top prizes.

Players have taken their seats in Day 1a of Event 3 and cards are now in the air. There are just 85 players seated, but as usual with an early start time (11am), there are many players still en route to Playground Poker Club.

Late registration is open through the first 4 30-minute levels, so there’s still about 2 hours left to get here and jump in the action on Day 1a.

Good luck to all of the players!
