Double Belt-winner Jean-Philippe Piquette has been eliminated from the event. He started the day with a very small stack, which he managed to grow somewhat while staving off elimination in the early rounds, but finally he got his stack in the middle holding Ace of Diamonds Queen of Clubs while Jonathan Barrette re-shoved with Ace of Clubs King of Diamonds.

The board was dealt: 3 of Diamonds 9 of Spades 9 of Clubs and then the turn King of Spades, which sealed it for JPP. The river was a (frustrating) Queen of Spades, and Jean Philippe hit the rail.

We’re nearing the half-way mark of the last level of play in Day 1c of the WPT Montreal, which was by far the biggest of the three starting flights. Given the total amount of chips in play today, we can expect to see the overall chipleader of Day 1 to come out of this flight (although that is not a guarantee).

Shortly after players have finished bagging and tagging their chips, we will be publishing the player reported chip counts from all of the players who have qualified for Day 2, as well as the seating arrangements.

Day 2 will take place tomorrow at 12pm in the tournament hall here at Playground Poker Club.

Arguably the biggest hero of the past few World Series’ of Poker in Las Vegas was not known for his skills at the table, but for putting food on the table. All-American Dave, as David Swanson is known, offered fresh, healthy food delivery to WSOP players, helping them to avoid fried other junk food – which is pretty important in an endurance event like any poker tournament.

Well, Dave may turn the tables this week and show the poker world that not only can he feed them well, he can hold his own with them at the tables as well. Dave took his seat earlier in Day 1c and so far has been accumulating a healthy stack.
