Mukul Pahuja dropped to the bottom of the leader board in the last level, however he just doubled up his stack to continue his pursuit of back-to-back final tables at the WPT Montreal.

After an open to 120,000 from Ratharam Sivagnanam in the cutoff, Mukul moved in for 685,000 from the small blind. Ratharam wasn’t too pleased with the spot, but made threw in some calling chips, and they went heads-up in the hand.

Mukul: Ace of Hearts Queen of Hearts

Ratharam: King of Hearts Jack of Clubs

Board: 5 of Hearts 2 of Diamonds 8 of Clubs 10 of Spades 2 of Hearts

With no help on the board, Ratharam slid over a chunk of his stack to Mukul, who is up over 23 big blinds now.

Sheraz Nasir lost half his stack near the beginning of this final table, but doubled twice since, the first time through Mukul, and the second through Jonathan, but is still amongst the short stacks,

With the board showing 4 of Hearts 10 of Hearts 4 of Diamonds 8 of Diamonds Ace of Clubs, and around half a million already in the pot, Ratharam Sivagnanam check-raised the river to 680,000, after Kevin MacPhee bet 210,000. Kevin tanked for a moment before sliding in the calling chips, but quickly mucked his hand when Ratharam tabled 2 of Spades 4 of Spades for three of a kind.

With that pot, Ratharam increased his stack to over 2,600,000, while Kevin fell down to around 2,550,000.

Edward: 9 of Clubs 9 of Diamonds

Guillaume: Ace of Spades King of Clubs

Guillaume paired on the King of Diamonds 8 of Spades 2 of Clubs 3 of Hearts 7 of Diamonds board to bring this WPT Montreal down to just one table of ten players.

We caught up on the flop in a hand between Lonnie Hallett (small blind) and Jonathan Jaffe (big blind). With already a considerable amount of chips in the middle, Lonnie check-raised to 355,000 on a 5 of Hearts 2 of Spades 9 of Diamonds board, and snap called when Jonathan moved in over the top.

Lonnie: 5 of Spades 5 of Clubs

Jonathan: Ace of Diamonds Queen of Spades

Drawing very slim, Jonathan didn’t find any miracle cards, as the dealer rung out the Jack of Spades and the 10 of Diamonds. Jonathan handed over the 1,100,000 that Lonnie had behind, taking him out of the chip lead of the tournament. Both players are now sitting on stacks hovering around the 2,600,000 mark.

Moments after doubling Sheraz Nasir and his 410,000 stack (Ace of Clubs Queen of Diamonds < King of Diamonds Jack of Diamonds, all-in preflop) Lonnie Hallett found himself once again all-in against a shorter stack. After opening the action from late position, Lonnie was facing a flat-call by Jonathan Jaffe on the button, and a 3bet shove for 575,000 by Alexandre Blanc from the small blind. He opted for the 4bet all-in, forcing Jonathan out of the hand.

Lonnie: Queen of Spades Queen of Hearts

Alexandre: Ace of Hearts King of Clubs

The community cards (5 of Clubs 5 of Hearts 7 of Spades 2 of Diamonds 8 of Hearts) were of no help to Alexandre, who saw his deep run end in 12th place.

12th place: Alexandre Blanc – $33,080

With an effective stack of 435,000, Mukul Pahuja open-shoved from the button, and was called by Sheraz Nasir from the small blind. Samuel Chartier threw his cards into the muck from the big blind, and the two active players tabled their hands.

Mukul: Ace of Spades King of Spades

Sheraz: King of Clubs Queen of Diamonds

Mukul ran the nuts on a 7 of Hearts 10 of Spades Jack of Diamonds 2 of Hearts Queen of Clubs board to doubled up to over 20 big blinds, while Sheraz fell down to just over 250,000.
