Kevin: 8 of Clubs 8 of Spades

Xuan: King of Spades Queen of Diamonds

Scott: Queen of Hearts Queen of Clubs

Xuan was on the brink of elimination, until she paired her king on the river of a 8 of Clubs 6 of Hearts 5 of Diamonds 6 of Clubs King of Hearts board. She now has over 30 big blinds, and is in a good spot to cruise into the money.

The Survivor!

Tonight is Event 8 of the Playground Poker Fall Classic, and is a $200 + $20 No Limit Hold’em Survivor tournament. This follows a similar structure to a satellite tournament, where play ends once the money is reached, and all remaining (or surviving) players receive the same prize, regardless of their stack size at the time. In this particular tournament, the top 10% of the field will get payed out roughly 10 times the buy-in.

There are currently 84 players registered, and this tournament does have a cap of 100 players, but will be accepting alternates up until the first break.

Good luck!

We just saw Jeff Gross play his last hand of this edition of the WPT Montreal, as he called a check-shove from Rodney Ramalho on a flop showing Ace of Spades King of Spades 3 of Diamonds. He turned over Ace of Hearts 8 of Spades, but was trailing the Ace of Clubs 10 of Spades of Rodney. With no help from the running 7 of Spades 5 of Diamonds, Jeff was eliminated around 40 spots shy of the money.

Other recent notable eliminations include: Jason Mercier, Benjamin Leblond, Dave Swanson, Shannon Shorr, Chanracy Khun, Ryan Rivers, Martin Rauss, Christian Harder, Timothy Reilly, Pratyush Buddiga.

The money bubble is approaching quickly!

Event 7 Champion: Alex Shing

Stephane Fortin was in the process of making a comeback in heads-up play with Alex Shing, but was stumped when he fell into Alex’s preflop trap. Sitting on the big blind, Alex completed the 100,000 blind, to which Stephane replied with a shove of 890,000. Alex snap called, and turned over his premium:

Alex: Queen of Hearts Queen of Spades

Stephane: 6 of Diamonds 6 of Spades

The board ran in favour of Alex’s queens, showing 10 of Hearts 8 of Diamonds 8 of Hearts 7 of Hearts King of Clubs, awarding him the pot and the win. He takes home $5,000 for his victory, as well as a Playground Poker Fall Classic bracelet!

Congratulations!
