The leaders in level 12 of Day 1b

  • Level: 12
  • Small Blind: 800
  • Big Blind: 1600
  • Ante: 200
  • Chip Average: 55K
  • Remaining: 103
  • Entries: 285

The tournament is at the beginning of level 12, which means there are just two levels left to play. At this point in the evening, a few players have moved away from the pack, though compared with Day 1a (earlier today), the large stacks are quite a bit more balanced among the 104 players who remain.

Among the chip leaders is Michael Korovine with 145K, with Marcel Basset right behind with 135K and Robert Piché at 115K. The action in tonight’s second flight is quite different without a massive leader, but there’s still a long way to go… Final counts to come when Day 1b wraps up.

The players have now completed a full 8 levels of the 13 that will be played tonight in Day 1b. During the break we took the opportunity to find the chip leaders at this point in the tournament.

It’s important to remember that having a top 5 stack now does not necessarily predict having a top 5 stack at the end of the flight – only one player in the top 5 at this point in today’s Day 1a ended up in the top 5 by the end of level 13!

  1. Joseph – 120K
  2. Anthony Fiumidinisi – 88K
  3. Joseph Zambito – 85K
  4. Jean-Paul Zeidan – 83K
  5. Kirk Sorensen, David Bolduc Hamel, David Elliott Marrache – 75K

Players in Event 1 Day 1b have completed the first 4 levels in Day 1b, the second flight in Event 1 of the Playground Poker Fall Classic. In tonight’s flight there were a total of 285 entries, which brings the total number of entries so far to 676. That many entries in just two of the four starting days means one thing for players: a huge prize pool is being built!

Play has now begun for the second of the 4 starting flights for Event 1, The Wild $150, here in the Playground Poker Fall Classic. This event is a next-day re-entry event, and players will take their best stack forward if they happen to qualify on multiple days. Which means that tonight’s flight will mix new players trying to qualify for the first time, some players who were eliminated earlier today in Day 1a, as well as (rarely) a few players who qualified for Day 2 this morning but with a stack they feel is smaller than they would like to start with on Day 2.

Play will continue tonight through 13 30-minute levels with breaks after every 4th level. Late registration is open until the end of the break following level 4, which means players still have 2 hours to arrive at Playground Poker Club to join the event.

Next up – Day 1b
