Antonio Esfandiari is a long-time friend of Playground Poker Club and a member of the Players Club. He always comes for big events here, and this past summer lent his name to the Antonio Esfandiari Survivor Series, a mini-festival that culminated in a heads-up match between Antonio and WPT Montreal 2013 Final Tableist Alexandre Lavigne.
For almost as long as the Tournament Hall has been open, there has been a huge poster of him on the wall, and one of the bullet points about our friend Antonio is that he is ranked #1 on the All Time Money List in poker.
But… that is no longer the case. Daniel Negreanu, by taking 2nd prize in last summer’s Big One for One Drop tournament, passed Antonio. The poster was no longer accurate!
So, during the dinner break today of Day 1c in the WPT Montreal, Antonio climbed up and made a needed edit to the huge poster of him… he added a huge sticker that says “#2”!
