Mike Lafable continues to have a leading stack and he has increased his holdings to near 1.5M chips as he eliminated Gary Lucci in 12th place. We missed the preflop action in the hand, but Lucci shoved on a Jack of Clubs 10 of Spades 7 of Spades board only to see Mike turn over the 7 of Hearts 7 of Clubs for the set.

Day 2 will continue only until the next player is eliminated. Then, the remaining 10 players will bag up their chips and return for Day 3, tomorrow.

12th place: Gary Lucci, $4,480

Faisal Khan is on a huge rush, as he just eliminated 3 players in 3 separate hands, all in one orbit. Nikki Price, Francois Goulet and Kuo Hui-Chen just saw all of their chips get swallowed by Faisal, who has now taken over the chip lead. His stack sits somewhere just over 1,800,000, which represents slightly more than 1/4 of the chips in play.

Mike Lafable, who took down the first event of this edition of the Playground Poker Fall Classic, has been steadily growing his stack over the course of this Day 2.

He recently eliminated Ioannis Pentefountas to take over the chip lead of the tournament. We missed the action, but with a considerable amount of chips already in the pot before the river, Ioannis found himself all-in on a board showing 7 of Hearts 8 of Clubs Queen of Hearts 5 of Spades 8 of Spades. He table King of Hearts 8 of Hearts for three of a kind, but lost to Mike’s straight, who was holding 6 of Diamonds 4 of Diamonds.

With that pot, Mike has climbed well over the 1 million chip mark, sitting on approximately 1,350,000 chips. He is directly to the left of TJ Ulmer, who owns roughly 770,000 chips, good for 3rd in chips. Faisail Khan is currently second on the leaderboard with around 840,000 chips.

Erik Lemarquand opened from the button, and was 3bet by Mike Lafable from the big blind. Holding roughly 15 big blinds, Erik decided this was the right time for him to move all-in, but unfortunately for him he was in bad shape.

Erik: Ace of Diamonds 8 of Diamonds

Mike: Ace of Clubs King of Spades

Erik almost got the help he needed, but inevitably fell short on the 3 of Diamonds 10 of Spades King of Hearts 4 of Diamonds Ace of Spades, ending his deep run in this WPT Warm-up event.

Moments later, Fabio Lungo was sent to the rail from on the other table.

17th place: Fabio Luongo – $3,130

18th place: Erik Lemarquand – $3,130

Online phenomenon TJ Ulmer, better known as his online alias ‘1bigacehole’, has just taken over the chip lead deep in this WPT Warm-up Event.

In a recent hand, he called an all-in on the turn by Douglas James. TJ tabled Ace of Diamonds 7 of Clubs for aces up on a 7 of Spades Ace of Clubs 10 of Hearts Jack of Hearts board, and was far ahead of Douglas’s 10 of Clubs Jack of Clubs. The river was a meaningless 4 of Clubs, and TJ added over 150K in new chips to his already impressive stack.

TJ now sits with around 650K, and is definitely a force to be reckoned with.

24th place: Douglas James – $2,450
25th place: Joshua Abiscott – $2,160

After about 10 hands of hand-for-hand play – interrupted by a break in the middle – Xin Qi has been eliminated in 28th place in Event 4. Xin had been short for a few levels already but he came back from the break with under 3 BB and as the blinds came around to his position in Seat 5. He folded both of his blinds as well as the Cutoff and Hijack positions, but with just 14K remaining he called Graham Lupton’s preflop raise to get his last chips in the middle.

Graham: Ace of Clubs King of Clubs
Xin: King of Hearts Queen of Diamonds

The board started out pretty well for Xin when the 2 of Hearts 6 of Hearts Jack of Hearts were dealt, but the turn King of Diamonds and River Ace of Diamonds didn’t give Xin his flush and he was out of the tournament.

The rest of the players are now in the money and tournament staff has performed a full redraw with just 3 tables remaining. Play continues in level 19.
