Jean-Francois Daunais opened to 125,000 from utg, and William Blais 3-bet to 425,000 from the small blind, finding a call from the original raiser.
On a flop, William continued with a bet of 325,000, and Jean-Francois obliged after a quick minute of reflection. On a turn, William moved all-in, sending Jean-Francois into the tank for a few moments. With around 1.2 million behind, he eventually made the call and when hands were tabled he realized he was in a tough spot, as his was crushed by the of William.
With no help on the river, the second chip leader of the event was sent to the rail, while William extended his already massive chip lead. He now holds 8 million chips, nearly half of the chips in play!
The field has also recently lost Edmund Corrigan and Pierre-Emmanuel Martel, and is now one elimination from the final table.
