The players in Day 1d of Event 1 of the Playground Poker Fall Classic are back from their first break of the day and with the end of the break comes the end of late registration on this, the last of the four starting flights in Event 1. The final number of entries tonight grew to 405, which adds up to 1464 total entries over the four Day 1s. Staff is working to confirm both the number and the Event’s prize pool, which we’ll be able to release shortly.

In the first four levels tonight just two players managed to build up extra-large stacks: Rick Shamshoum and Francis Karl Dubé are both sitting on stacks greater than 80K. The usual caution applies, however – there’s lot of poker to be played before the night is over.

Here are a few more photos from the first four levels tonight.

Into level 3

  • Level: 3
  • Small Blind: 75
  • Big Blind: 150
  • Ante: 25
  • Chip Average: 22.2K

Day 1d is now about 15 minutes in to level 3 and there have already been 393 players seated in tonight’s fourth and final starting flight of Event 1, The Wild $150. With about 45 minutes left to late register, the number will certainly pass 400.

The Tournament Director has confirmed that once late registration is over we’ll be able to publish final prize pool and payout structure information relatively quickly, so stay tuned for what are likely to be some impressive numbers!

Here are some photos of the early action tonight.

Cards are in the air for Day 1d

  • Level: 1
  • Small Blind: 50
  • Big Blind: 100
  • Ante: 0
  • Chip Average: 20K
  • Remaining: 294
  • Entries: 294

The Tournament Director has made the introductory announcements and cards are now in the air for Day 1d of Event 1 in the Playground Poker Fall Classic! So far 294 players have taken their seats, but based on past experience this number is likely to jump up to somewhere close to 400 entries by the time late registration ends.

One of the great things about this event is that with the $150 total buy-in, it is accessible to almost every poker player – but with the huge field generating a huge prize pool (and a significant number up top) it also appeals to very experienced and successful players. We’ll publish a more complete list later this evening, but we have already seen past event champions and at least one WSOP bracelet winner in the field today.

Good luck to everyone in tonight’s starting flight!

Up next – Day 1d

Tonight is the final starting flight of Event 1 – The Wild $150 – in the Playground Poker Fall Classic. There have been 1,059 total entries over the course of the first three starting days and tonight’s fourth flight is shaping up to attract another large field. At 6:20pm there are already 112 players registered, a number that will grow quickly though the tournament’s start at 7pm all the way through late registration, which continues until just after 9pm.

Of the 1,059 entries so far, 234 have already qualified for Day 2, which will start at 7pm tomorrow night. The overall chip average is 90,700 based on the first three flights. The overall chip leader so far is Bo Yan Shi, who bagged 324,200 chips at the end of Day 1a.

There’s still lots of time to make your way to Playground Poker Club and jump into the action, so come and take a shot at a piece of what will be a truly huge prize pool for a $150 investment!
