Event 3 may have a relatively low buy-in, but that hasn’t stopped some notable players from jumping into the action today.

  • Eric Afriat – Eric is a Playground regular who is also a WPT Champion, having won the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdown in Florida earlier this year.
  • André Boyer – one of Quebec’s first poker stars, André is a WSOP Bracelet winner and once made the final table of the WSOP Main Event.
  • Philippe Plouffe – Philippe is a member of the Playground Poker Players Club and has significant cashes at events around the world, including a final table of the PCA Main Event.
  • Ami Alibay – Ami is another Playground regular who has significant results going back years, including a second-place finish in a $10K High Roller event here at Playground Poker Club as well as deep runs in both WSOP and EPT events over the past 5 years.
  • Ricky Tang – Ricky is a poker player from Toronto who has had lots of big finishes, and has done very well here at Playground Poker Club, having finished 2nd in a $1.1K event in the 2013 Fall Classic and 3rd in one of our big $150 kickoff events.
  • Kyle Myers – Kyle won Event 2 just 2 days ago here in the 2014 Playground Poker Fall Classic.
  • Isham Yamani – Isham is well-known in the Montreal poker community and final tabled the $150 Re-entry Event 1 in the 2014 Fall Classic.

Cards are in the air for Day 1c of Event 3, The $250 Frenzy, in the Playground Poker Fall Classic! So far 141 players have taken their seats with late registration open for just under 2 hours to give more players the opportunity to buy in to the event.

Today’s Day 1c is the third of six starting flights in the tournament, which so far has seen 66 players qualify for Day 2 out of a total of 326 entries.

Play today will continue for 14 half-hour levels and we’ll be back soon with photos and more information about the field today.

Event 3 Day 1b final chip counts

Here are the final chip counts for Day 1b of The $250 Frenzy, Event 3 of the 2014 Playground Poker Fall Classic. There were a total of 192 entrants in the second of six starting flights in Event 3. Of the 192 players who started, 40 have qualified for Day 2 on Monday, November 17th at 7pm.

The players are approaching the end of Day 1b of Event 3, the $250 Frenzy ($225 + $25 NL Hold’em Re-entry) in the Playground Poker Fall Classic. There are 50 players left in the action on 5 tables, and the stacks are relatively balanced around the room. Jean-Pierre Hétu and Derek Lerner have separated from the rest of the field, having accumulated over 200K in chips. There is still a level and a half to play this evening, and with blinds going up it will be no surprise to see lots of action between now and the end of Day 1b.
