Event 5 Champion: Brian Yoon

Brian Yoon seemed to be in control of the tournament from when it dropped down to 2 tables. He entered the final table as the chip leader, and never really looked back. Playing a very aggressive style, he won many uncontested pots, and even managed to knock out a number of opponents who tried to play back at him.

Heads-up play versus Franco Amorelli didn’t last very long, and Brian started with a 5-to-1 chip lead. In the final hand, both players went all-in on the turn on a board showing 2 of Diamonds 8 of Hearts Queen of Hearts 9 of Hearts. Brian had the best of it, holding Ace of Hearts 2 of Hearts for the nut flush, but Franco wasn’t drawing dead, as his 9 of Diamonds 8 of Clubs was drawing to 4 outs for the win. The river was the 3 of Clubs, which sealed the victory for Brian.

Brian collected $4,500 for the win, as well as a Playground Poker Fall Classic bracelet.

Congratulations!
