Robert Rose bags the overall lead as Day 1C wraps up

All three starting flights to the WPT Montreal are now completed, and the tournament is ready to move forward to Day 2, taking place tomorrow at 12pm.

Robert Rose (pictured below) ended Day 1C as the biggest stack overall, finding a bag worth 300,600 chips through 10 levels of play. Other big stack from tonight include Michael Mizrachi (246,900), Grigoriy Shvarts (216,200), Ari Engel (196,600) and Shaan Siddiqui (174,900).

Once processed, the full list of player-reported chip counts will be added to the Combined List of Day 2 Qualifiers, and shortly after we will release the Day 2 seating assignments.

The two big chip leaders near the end of Day 1C are sitting across from each other on Table 64, and their combined count surpasses half a million chips. Robert Rose is the bigger of the two stacks, playing roughly 275,000, while Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi is close behind with around 245,000 in chips.

The final level of this flight is now underway.

WPT Montreal – Prizes

The 2017 WPT Montreal attracted a total of 606 entries, contributing to a prize pool of $2,057,370.00. US$15,000 (C$19,420) was reserved from the overall prize pool to be awarded to first place in the form of a seat in the WPT Tournament of Champions event. The remaining prize pool was then divided into payouts for the top 76 finishers in the event. The payouts will be distributed according to the following table.

First prize also includes a seat in the WPT Tournament fo Champions, a value of US$15,000 (C$19,420)

Once play concludes we will add the full list of player-reported chip counts to the Combined list of Day 2 Qualifiers, and shortly after the Day 2 seating draw will be published.

The last break is behind us in Day 1C of the WPT Montreal, and during this time we compiled a list of the top 10 stacks in play through 8 levels, listed below.

Grigoriy Shvarts continues to top the field and now plays over 160,000 in chips, and the leaderboard includes a few familiar faces, such as Ari Engel, Shaan Siddiqui, Michael Mizrachi and Brady Hinnegan.
