Day 1A is drawing to a close, but the players show no signs of slowing down. Three-bets are quickly becoming standard as the players take every opportunity to accumulate chips, however, they are keeping their eyes on the prize and still making big folds.
A big hand that just played out on table 56 offers a nice example; Daune Fernandez opened the action in early position, raising the 2K big blind to 6.5K. Immediately to his left was Todd Pierce who re-raised to 23K. This 3-bet drew a cold call from Eric Cormier, before Fernandez moved all in. Pierce immediately followed suit and left Cormier with a tough decision. After asking for a count, Cormier opened and folded 
:ks saying “…it must be aces.” Sure enough, it was 
for Pierce. Fernandez grimaced as he showed his 
. By this time a small crowd had gathered around the table, and Pierce and Fernandez rose from their seats to watch the board run out:
