Charles La Boissonnière has been playing for most of the day in a table at the back corner of the Tournament Hall – a perfect location to fly under the radar and accumulate chips without being noticed. And so he has done…

This talented Quebec-based player who first came to notice in Live poker during the 2016 World Cup of Cards is now playing a stack of around 1.8M in chips.

Players are on break momentarily and we’ll put together a complete list of chip leaders at that time.

Griffin Benger is a player we noted before play began today as someone with the skill and experience to go deep despite a relatively small Day 2 starting stack – and so far that prediction is holding true. He started the day with 105K in chips – barely more than a fresh Day 2 stack – and has patiently seen his way entirely through the early re-entry phase of Day 2 through to now, level 16 – and he’s playing a 1M+ stack – all without fanfare or fuss, just steady accumulation…

Players have just returned from a break during which the purple T500 chips were removed from play and during the break we put together a new leaderboard in the tournament, this time comprised almost exclusively of players with over one million in chips.

The current chip leader is Ryan Parsons who leads the way with 1.17M, but Christopher Turnbull is right on his tail with 1.111M.

No one should start feeling too comfortable with their lead – there are just a ton of players who are just one pot away from joining or surpassing anyone on this list – and they are all players who are capable of doing just that!
