Eliminations have slowed down a little bit since earlier in the day, but there’s still a regular shuffle of players to the Tournament Desk to pick up payout coupons as the tournament continues to move forward. The first to go was Olivier Brossard in a hand we missed and then a few minutes later Steve Carriere was out.

Arnie Maloney was the player that took out Carriere as his started well ahead of Carriere’s and ended even further in the lead on a board.

Play in Event #2 has continued at a rapid pace all day, and with a relatively smooth growth in payouts there haven’t really been any bubbles to get hung up on today. After several minutes of play with 11 players left on two tables (and the button ante chopped), Terrance Davis open jammed for his last 72K and found a call from Francis Dery (button). The blinds folded and the cards were revealed.

The board runout brought no relief for the shorter-stacked Davis and he hit the rail in 11th place.

Before the final table could be brought together, Mohamad Ben Yahia was also eliminated from his table, and so there are just 9 players left as final table play begins.
