With a slightly smaller turnout than yesterday’s Day 1A, today’s flight drew 45 entries and 3 re-entries. The players are fighting to run up their stacks to bring as much as possible of the 960,000 chips in play with them to Friday’s Day 2.
As we return from the first break, one player has more than doubled his start stack, John Tajima, to take the current lead with 51,000 in chips.
The ice has been broken! We just had our first re-entry of the day, and we expect many more as the action picks up. Players have been trickling in steadily since the first buzzer, bringing the number of entries up to 33.

Day 1B is off to a similar start to Day 1B with 21 entries before the end of the first level. Late registration runs until 12:30pm, giving everyone plenty of time to enter (or re-enter) today’s flight.
Day 1B of our multi-day, unlimited re-entry tournament, the Crazy $80, is about to get underway. Today is the second of four day 1s for this event; with a guaranteed prize pool of at least $20,000 it offers great value for a relatively small buy-in.
Rather than playing a set number of levels today, the running time of today’s event will be determined by the number of entries; players advance to Day 2 when 10% of the field remains. Yesterdays’s Day 1A drew 53 entries and 4 re-entries which allowed 6 players to advance.

Play has ended for today with 6 players bagging chips for Friday’s Day 2. The bubble burst when Sebastien Proulx, who made a remarkable comeback from the brink of elimination, busted Christian Barrett. When the players went all-in pre-flop, the cards revealed a familiar race; middle pair against big slick. Proulx’s 7s took a nearly insurmountable lead when he flopped his set. There was no runner-runner to save Barrett, who rivered a trivial king, and left in seventh place.
The Crazy $80 offers three more day 1s with unlimited re-entries during the first four levels of play so there are lots of opportunities to try to join today’s qualifiers.

Sebastien Proulx has made it back from the brink of elimination. In a remarkable turn of events, Proulx just eliminated Christopher Wilcox in eighth place and is now holding over 200K in chips. The final table action picked up pace dramatically as strong hands kept colliding, leading to a series of all-ins before the flop. The most recent was when Proulx woke up with 
and got it in against Wilcox’s 
. Despite the jack-high flop, the turn and river posed no threat to the overpair, and Proulx’s hand stood.
