The action continues at a brisk pace as we approach the second break of the evening. At this stage in the tournament, we are starting to see the disparity between the big and small stacks widen significantly. These disparities often dictate the play, and a hand we just saw offers a clear example.

With the blinds at 300/600, the action was opened from middle position with a raise to 1.6K. After a call from the cut off, the button and chip leader of the table, Yonathan Moryoussef, put in a raise to 4.8K. The small blind, a relatively short stack, quickly moved all in for 10.6K. The action folded back around to Moryoussef who made the call after some contemplation. The hands were tabled for everyone to see; Moryoussef had King of Hearts 7 of Hearts and his opponent had 10 of Diamonds 10 of Hearts. The dealer swiftly brought out the board: Ace of Spades 3 of Hearts King of Diamonds 2 of Clubs 9 of Clubs. Moryoussef hit his over and added to his already significant stack.

The next break is in a few minutes, stay tuned for a chip leader update.

This is the fourth of six starting flights for the $250 Frenzy, and 136 players made it out tonight. As we return from the break, late registration has finished, and the field is down to 111 players competing for their share of the 2,700,000 chips in play.

There will be two more starting flights tomorrow, starting at 11:00am and 7:00pm respectively. These will be your last opportunities to take advantage of some potential overlay and jump in the Frenzy.

Denis Leftakis and Daniel Pépin got it in pre-flop. Pépin did not have much left, but given the strength of the hands, the chips would probably have gotten in the same way with a bigger effective amount.

Denis Leftakis: Ace of Hearts Ace of Diamonds
Daniel Pépin: King of Spades King of Hearts

Board: Ace of Clubs 7 of Diamonds 3 of Spades 7 of Hearts Ace of Spades

As if watching aces flop a set when you have kings wasn’t enough, Pépin got to see Leftakis quad up on the river!

Despite the strong early turnout for Day 1D, this event is on pace for a prize pool overlay. This multi-day tournament already has a great structure for players: 20,000 in chips to start, 30-minute blind levels and $200,000 up for grabs. Add in some overlay and you’ve got the best value and poker experience out there.

Late registration for this flight is open until 9:15pm. Hurry down to Playground to get a piece of the action!
