The players in Day 1C have taken their first break of the day – registration closed at the end of this break with a total of 138 entries (351 total).
During the break we were able to find the current chip leaders. Usually at such an early stage of a tournament there aren’t that many players with deep stacks – but today there are already 6 players with over 50K (more than 2x starting), and the leader, Francis Dery, already has over 70K!

Play is into level 3 in Day 1C and with over an hour left of late registration available, there are currently 114 players registered.

Play has now begun in Day 1C of the $250 Frenzy as 72 players have already taken their seats in the Tournament Hall – and there’s a bit of a lineup at the cashier.
Play today will continue through 14 levels of 30 minutes each, with 15 minute breaks scheduled after every 4th/5th level. Everyone who is still in the tournament at the end of the 14 levels will bag up their stack to return to play on Day 1, to be held on Monday.
The Weekend flights are when the $250 Frenzy generally “takes off” as we see huge fields take their shot at qualifying for Day 2 and what is certain to be an impressive prize pool. The Friday flights, combined, saw 213 entries – and we could get something close to that on each of the four Day 1s that remain.
A total of 35 players have already qualified for Day 2, and the outcome of the Friday flights was notable for the sheer number of great players among the qualifiers. Shaan Siddiqui, Charles La Boissoniere, Michael Korovine – these are all champions. Go further down the list and see Chris Arvanitis, Carl Martel and Ruben Perceval and the class of the field is obvious.
Action in Day 1C gets underway in about 15 minutes but players have until 1:15pm to register and join the action. It should be a great day of poker – and then it all starts again tonight at 7:00pm!
