We have our first bustout of Day 3 of the $250 Frenzy. Yonathan Moryoussef was eliminated by Shaan Siddiqui in 15th place, earning Moryoussef $1,990 for his trouble. The board read 7 of Spades 9 of Hearts Queen of Diamonds 9 of Diamonds when players got it all in on the turn. Hands were tabled to show Siddiqui’s 9 of Clubs 8 of Clubs, for turned trips, against Moryoussef’s King of Spades Queen of Spades. The river, the Ace of Spades, changed nothing, giving us our first elimination of the day. Siddiqui is now in great shape with about a quarter of the chips in play- a stack eclipsing 4,000,000.

    15 Day 3 qualifiers

    2018/01/23 - 2:09 by Jôle Simard

Day 2 is officially in the books. 15 players accomplished today’s main goal – to send a stack to tomorrow night’s Day 3. Out of 144 Day 2 runners, only 15 remain.

8 players have bagged 7 figures. Here is our top 4:

    • Shaan Siddiqui – 2,390,000
    • Giancarlo Santolin – 1,980,000
    • Yonathan Moryoussef – 1,535,000
    • Rami Hammoud – 1,485,000

Siddiqui’s game was extremely strong. His ascent was smooth and he made it look like a walk in the park. Santolin killed it in the last stint, doubling against Moryoussef, crippling him in the process. However, Moryoussef did not despair, and a mix of luck and good play brought him back from the crypt. Rami Hammoud also did very well the last few levels, building a millionaire stack from scratch.

The Day 3 seating draw with full counts will be published shortly.

    See you tomorrow at 7pm!

Salvatore Polleta got a taste of Shaan Siddiqui’s large stack when his tens got undone by Siddiqui’s weak ace. Siddiqui had raised, and found himself committed to complete Polleta’s all-in bet. This is how it goes sometimes when you can afford to look up your opponents.

The Frenzy, minutes away from concluding Day 2, move to a 2-table affair.

A good table change for Santolin

    • Level: 26

Giancarlo Santolin won a big pot with queens, then was asked to change tables. He took a seat next to Yonathan Moryoussef, and soon enough, they went to war. Moryoussef had flopped top 2-pair, but it was not enough against Santolin’s middle set. With this pot of over 2M chips, Santolin is now leading Day 2 into the last level. Shaan Siddiqui is still on cruise control, now up to 1.6M, good for second in chips.

    A sour knockout

    2018/01/23 - 0:51 by Jôle Simard

In a raised pot, Maxime Marcouiller went all-in for about 300K on the flop, and Harry Chaimowiz asked for a count. He let the dealer cut down his chips, and after a while announced a call.

Maxime Marcouiller: 4 of Diamonds 4 of Spades
Harry Chaimowiz: 6 of Hearts 6 of Clubs

Board: 6 of Spades 5 of Hearts 5 of Spades 2 of Diamonds 9 of Hearts

    Harry Chaimowiz

Chaimowiz had flopped a boat. Marcouiller walked away with dignity.

Meanwhile, on another table, Bob T went all-in from the under-the-gun position, and when the action folded to Ruben Perceval in the big blind, he offered Bob to join him while he looked at his cards. When the 2nd card proved not to match the 1st one, Bob joked: ”Oh that’s a call!” Of course, Ruben tossed the hand.

A very unorthodox twist, but equally refreshing!
