On a 9 of Hearts 6 of Spades 9 of Diamonds flop, Joël Moreau bet 30K into a pot that was raised pre-flop. Ryan Parsons went all-in, thinking he might be able to take Moreau off a hand. But with Queen of Diamonds Queen of Spades, he wasn’t going anywhere.

Parsons’ threes fell, and went down to about 40K, while Moreau now counts about 250K.

Many quick bust outs occurred in the past level. Alain Rondeau, Brenda Mary Blackburn, Marcello Simonetti (who lost with Ace of Hearts King of Hearts against king-jack with 2 hearts on the flop – ouch), Dominique Giguère, Albert Nguyen and Raymond Glover all busted in the last 30 minutes.

Joël Moreau doubled his 17K stack with Queen of Spades Jack of Spades against Dominik Palys’ Ace of Diamonds Jack of Clubs when he hit a flush on the river. After that hand, Palys went on to lose with Ace of Spades King of Diamonds against Maxime Marcouiller’s Jack of Hearts Jack of Spades.

Twelve levels are behind us, and players have taken a short break. We took that time to scan the room for stacks of 100K or better, and found an extremely uneven distribution of chips. Out of eight 6-figure stacks, 6 are on table 70, where our leader sits.

Nick Nickoletopoulos and Sylvain Bouchard are each leading their own table, while the other 6 are in the lion’s den. Here is the updated leaderboard:

David Simard was taken down when Ryan Parsons pulled an upset:

The event moves fast. Only 31 players are left, and not long after the upcoming break, they will move to a 3-table deal.

Update: George Caragiorgias came back and works with about 25K. Jean-Philippe Piquette was eliminated when his last 29K were lost with 7s against 6s.
