It is in a stormy Montreal that Day 2 qualifiers resume play tonight. In a few minutes, Day 2 of Event 4 in the Winter Festival 2018 will be underway at Playground Poker Club. 144 runners managed to send a stack to Day 2, with Donald Abdelhay as a front man. His stack of 402,000 is looking really good in a field that counts only 1 other player over 300K (Louis-Charles Levros). We will keep an eye on these 2 during the first levels of play.
Blinds resume at 1,5K/3K/a3K, and some qualifiers will feel the pressure right away. We expect the 144-player field to reduce quickly, then slow down when closing in on the prizes. 81 players will get paid, and only a handful will get to send a stack to tomorrow night’s Day 3.
As the tournament director makes the introductory announcement, level 15 begins. Shuffle up and Deal!
